We are proud to announce we have partnered with Derek at Datsunworks to bring this kit to the Datsun market.
This is a completely brand new bellhousing casting that allows for the use of a CD00x series transmission bolted to the L-series engine. If you’re making serious power, and don’t want to risk drivetrain failures, this is an absolute MUST to future proof your Datsun build.
One of the many benefits of this bellhousing setup over our competitors include the following
Use of factory L-series Clutch/Flywheel/Throw-Out Bearing Sleeve and Collar (That means no proprietary clutch/flywheel parts needed, all off-the-shelf parts are used)
Use of factory Z car clutch slave cylinder, and factory positioning. No concentric slave cylinder junk!!
No bell-housing adapter needed, no machining, no welding required
Proven strength of well over 600+ WHP
To be as forth-coming as possible, we want to give you as much information as possible, which includes some of the following disclosures of things we have noticed during beta testing of this kit
CD00x series transmissions do emit some noise at idle, particularly gear train clatter, minor input shaft noise, etc. (This is heavily dependent on the type of clutch and flywheel combo you are running, aluminum seems to translate much more noise)
No provision for mechanical speedometer, so vehicle must be converted to GPS
Requires cutting the factory transmission tunnel mounting ears away from the body for extra clearance
Depending on year model Z car, will require drilling into the frame rails for our transmission cross-member.
Will require the use of the 350z clutch fork
The kit will include a BRAND NEW bellhousing, hardware kit, and pre-machined front bearing cover. There will be a core exchange program for the front bearing cover. If you have a NEW front bearing cover to turn in, you will be credited $135, such as if you have a brand new CD00A in your possession, or if you decide to purchase your own from Nissan to send it back to us.
Front bearing covers that are return for cores must be brand new, no exceptions as Nissan considers this a wear item. We will not machine any used front bearing covers
