L6 DCOE Individual Throttle Body Kit for Datsun 240z | 260z | 280z | 280zx | Fairlady Z
We are happy to announce our own DCOE individual throttle body kit that we have released to market. We have been diligently testing and working on this setup for approximately a year as of July 2023, working out as many kinks and pain points as we can based off of other competitor setups, and we believe this will become the front runner for ITB kits in the Datsun world.
We are going to be offering these kits in 3 major packages, as well as a few different sub services for customizing your order to match your specific needs and setup. Our kit utilizes the TWM intake manifold casting, along with genuine Borla throttles. We offer the following sizes for purchase (40mm | 45mm | 48mm | 50mm | 55mm).
Our kits will feature a cable setup, rather than the old linkage style, due to several compatibility issues we identified, as well as user friendliness. We have also partnered with Pallnet fuel rails during the development process and can offer a 1 piece billet fuel rail design for use with modern Bosch EV6 injectors, available in virtually every size imaginable. No more out-dated EV1 injectors, or 3 piece fuel rail designs.
We also offer manifold port matching to match the throttles with the runner inlet, as well as smoothing out all of the runners on the inside, and as a final step toward the customization process, we offer powdercoating as well, in virtually any color you can think of.
Our 3 main kits that we will offer will be specified below

We strongly recommend using our Complete stand alone EFI system for the best possible compatibility with this kit. We have several base tunes available for use, as well as a simple auto-tune strategy to employ for user end tuning. >>> Click here for Megasquirt EFI System Link <<<<
Base kit will not include any fuel system components, throttle position sensor, or a throttle cable or linkage setup.
Intermediate kit will not include a throttle linkage setup.
Due to the difference in aftermarket parts, there may be some minor trimming/fitting involved with the TWM casting intake manifold, and other header designs, and some factory exhaust manifolds depending on year. Unfortunately it is almost impossible to cast a manifold that will not have clearance issues across some setups. This can be achieved by sanding/grinding areas where they make contact. This is further highlighted in our install video.
Although we have worked out a whole host of issues, there may be some random issues that are unaccounted for, due to several factors out of our control. The fuel rail setup is a billet 1 piece design, but has only been field tested up to 45mm DCOE throttles. We do not currently have solid fitment data on the 48mm, 50mm, and 55mm setups. If you chose to purchase one of these, please be aware of this, we will work to correct any fitment or compatibility issues moving forward that have not been documented at this time.
Our complete kit features a vacuum distribution block, as well as a vacuum reserve canister. This is due to the TWM manifold design only incorporating a single vacuum connection at runner #6. This does not produce enough vacuum to properly fill the vacuum brake booster with enough vacuum to maintain power brakes. By utilizing our vacuum reserve canister, it will have enough reserve supply for the brake booster to function normally. This same issue exists with anything vacuum controlled, such as the PCV valve, input to an aftermarket ECU for ignition timing tuning, A/C controls, and your pressure regulator vacuum signal. If you chose not to buy our complete kit, please take this into account when building your specific setup.
For 1979-1983 we have not worked out a definitive throttle cable setup, but it is currently in the works and will be ready for shipping.
For sizing, typical street setups with a factory cam, factory head work, etc will best benefit from the 40mm to 45mm.
48mm is a great intermediate size for aftermarket cams, with head work, and is probably the largest recommended throttle size for a street vehicle. Best for balance between street driveability, port velocity, and general performance
50mm to 55mm is typically only recommended for racing applications where you will continually be in high RPMs, as throttles this large will typically have very low port velocity at lower RPMs.
