Jason's 00' Twin Turbo Mustang GT

Jason had a vision for his Mustang that was vastly different than your standard Mustang GT build of this era. What started off as a weekend project, quickly turned into a major fabrication job, which we were happy to take on. As with any car build, you have to start with a platform that has good bones, and this one certainly met the mark. With a freshly rebuilt engine, with stronger internals, this Mustang GT was ready for a custom front facing twin-turbo system.

The twin turbo system was definitely not a bolt-in affair. It required re-fitting and modifying in several different areas, as well as some modifications to the body that weren’t exactly for the faint of heart. Nonetheless, we were able to create a fully functioning, front mounted remote turbo system, with 100% of the exhaust, charge piping, and oiling system fabricated in house by our well-trained staff.

We also made a point to tackle radiant heat, as exhaust components were never meant to be mounted in the locations that we chose for this car. We chose stainless steel for all of the exhaust components, wrapped everything in DEI Titanium header wrap, as well as using 6061 sheet aluminum to build several heat shields, and complimenting them with DEI heat reflective tape.

The last piece of the puzzle was the oiling system. With any turbocharger setup, you need engine oil to supply the bearings with much needed lubricant. You also need a way to remove that oil from the turbo system after it is used, which will otherwise back-up like home plumbing, and cause oil to leak into the exhaust and create quite the smoke screen. We solved this problem with Vibrant -10an hoses and fittings, as well as a remote oil scavenging pump that allowed oil to flow directly back to the oil pan, as gravity alone will not do the job.
